Tsangs Group Supports Education by Donating Book Bag Library to Local School

In collaboration with Bring Me a BookTM Hong Kong, Tsangs Group is pleased to announce the donation of the Book Bag Library to Salesian Yip Hon Millennium Primary School, supporting the educational development of the local community in Hong Kong.

The Opening Ceremony was held in late September at the school, officiated by Mr Ching Shiu Hoi, Supervisor, and Mr Wong Wai Kin Eugene, Principal of Salesian Yip Hon Millennium Primary School, Ms Lydia Lee, Executive Director of Bring Me a BookTM Hong Kong, and Ms Apple Lo, Chief Operating Officer of Tsangs Group. After the ceremony, to share the joy and insights of reading, storytelling sessions were performed with various groups of students by volunteers of Tsangs Group and Bring Me a BookTM Hong Kong.

The Book Bag Library is a lending library that is easy to install and maintain. Through the programme, students and their families can easily access a wide selection of the highest quality hardcover children’s books to enhance reading skills and language acquisition.

The library is a 5-shelf library with 220 hardcover books in Chinese and English. Canvas bags are provided for students to carry the books home and share with their families. It is expected that the library could benefit students and their families by reinforcing family values, improving family literacy, and enhancing the school readiness of students.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Tsangs Group and Bring Me a BookTM Hong Kong for their sponsorship. We encourage parents and students to actively participate in various activities of the ‘Book Bag Library Project’, make good use of reading resources, and enable students to grow up healthily and happily,” commented Mr Wong Wai Kin Eugene, Principal of Salesian Yip Hon Millennium Primary School.

“None of these would be possible without the generous support from our donors such as Tsangs Group, which is well-recognised as a caring corporate citizen and is therefore a great philanthropic partner to work with. We are thrilled to team up with such a passionate organisation and we hope this library can help students at Salesian Yip Hon Millennium Primary School cultivate a love for reading and strengthen family bonding, that will last a lifetime,” commented Lydia Lee, Executive Director, Bring Me a BookTM Hong Kong.

“The Tsangs Group family patriarch and founder instilled in us a belief that a good education is a foundation for a better future. That is why we remain committed to supporting early stage education designed to help tomorrow’s leaders recognise their full potential,” commented Patrick Tsang, Chairman of Tsangs Group.
