Tsangs Group Sponsors VR Technology-driven Smartcity Incubation Programme

Tsangs Group is pleased to announce that one of our sponsored projects, “Bootcamp Accelerator for Mayor Offices” (the “BAMO”), has been completed successfully. From September to November 2021, with the funding of Tsangs Group, Good City Foundation (GCF) and Indonesia Creative Cities Network (ICCN) co-organised the Zoom and Virtual Reality Technology-driven accelerator-style smart city project Incubation Programme for 81 civil servants, government urban planners, NGO leaders and private sector owners from 31 cities in Indonesia.

With support from virtual reality system brand HTC VIVE, the BAMO is an accelerator-style smart city government capacity development program in Indonesia to conduct over 10 hours of urban planning and development training (planning, design, policy innovation) with consultants from the World Bank IFC (EDGE Team Indonesia), the World Economic Forum (IoT and Urban Transformation), ICCN and Singapore-based digital twin company, Urbanetic.

The BAMO programme is strategically positioned with the ICCN as part of Indonesia’s national development goal on the 2nd wave of digitalisation in the country.

“BAMO provides a great opportunity for us to experience a different way of communicating and idea sharing, using high-end technology and devices. This experimental phase is also where we can identify points of improvement and requirements for this method to work better.” commented Ms Dwinita Larasati, Deputy Strategic Partnership of ICCN.

“BAMO is a new experience on how the government can seek opportunities on policy through interactive digital platforms which is a much-needed skill in the modern world.” commented Executive Director of West Java Creative Economy and Innovation Committee.

“We are pleased that the BAMO programme is completed successfully. Tsangs Group is always a great supporter of innovators, technologists, and thinkers that will define the next great phase of humanity. VR technology is a creative and interesting way to connect people from around the globe, with minds of innovation and the support of technology, we expect to exert positive influence and positive impact to Indonesia, Southeast Asia and the world.” commented Patrick Tsang, Chairman of Tsangs Group.
